Thanks for visiting!

You have arrived at The Unconscious Consumer, a blog aimed at unravelling the various unconscious factors that impact consumer behaviour. Our insights are sourced from the fields of behavioural economics, social and cognitive psychology, and the most recent developments in digital and social media.

Everything in this blog will focus on experiences that are guiding our behaviour and decisions without our awareness,  But we are not talking about unconscious influences in the sense of anything Freudian or something like subliminal priming; instead, we are talking about the types of seemingly innocuous experiences that we don't even pay attention to at all, and more often than not, will completely forget about.  It is easy to assume that those types of unconscious experiences have absolutely no impact on us, but as it turns out, those experiences are continually shaping the choices that we, as consumers, are making every day.
