Welcome to The Unconscious Consumer Blog.  This blog will help us uncover all types of unconscious influences that underlie consumer behaviour by pulling on ideas from behavioural economics, social and cognitive psychology, and the latest trends on digital and social media.

Everything in this blog will focus on experiences that are guiding our behaviour and decisions without our awareness,  But we are not talking about unconscious influences in the sense of anything Freudian or something like subliminal priming; instead we are talking about the types of seemingly innocuous experiences that we don't even pay attention to at all, and more often than not, will completely forget about.  It is easy to assume that those types of unconscious experience have absolutely no impact on us, but as it turns out, those experiences are continually shaping the choices that we, as consumers, are making every day.

This blog is written by Dr. Adam Spadaro, with the help of colleagues and experts in academic and industry research institutions.  Adam is a cognitive psychologist by training, who uses his research background to bridge the worlds of academia and industry to uncover the underlying insights about human behaviour.
